Tommy Madden is now officially the Lossiemouth manager bringing to an end the speculation of the last three weeks, during which time Madden has been consistently tipped as the most likely candidate for the post.
Having played for the side in the early 90's Madden, who is based in Elgin, joined Jim Walker's backroom staff and having fulfilled a caretaker roll since the club parted company with Walker.
The official announcement was made by club Chairman Derek Gillies moments ago:
"Lossiemouth wish to announced that Tommy Madden was offered, and has accepted the appointment as manager. He knows the club very well having been a player with us in the 90's and is highly regarded as a coach with a wide range experience.
"Tommy and club are now actively seeking a number two; ideally this person will be locally based and have good experience at either junior or Highland League level."
Looking back over the last few weeks Gillies believes that it was a sensible move for Madden to take his time to consider the post before agreeing to take the role on an official basis.
"When we asked Tommy if he would take over as caretaker he wanted time to consider things and to get the two league matches and then focus on the Spartans match before making the decision. We were content with that and would never want anybody rushing in and making a major decision without reflecting on it. That has happened and we are pleased with the outcome."
