Lossiemouth are set to introduce a Dutch of class to their defence in the weeks ahead with international clearance being sought to allow Michael Wintjes to feature during his spell at the local airbase.
Wintjes has taken part in a number of training sessions with the Coasters and boss Tommy Madden is ready to take a look at him in action in the not too distant future.
"He should be back in Lossie this week. He was transferred over to the airbase here on a pilot exchange sort of thing with some RAF pilot sitting living it up at an airbase in Holland while he is freezing to death over here until the summer," Madden said.
"He is very calm in possession and doesn't give the ball away and with Steve Dixon being injured for a few more weeks we will have to take a chance and have a look at him in games. He is a decent lad who has looked good in training and likes a wind up as well. When Mackers asked him the last club he had played for he said Feyenoord and Alan's eyes lit up!"
Lossie fans will be keen to find out the latest developments on the Doug Coull front after the imposing centre forward scored twice in two trialist appearances over the festive period. So we asked Tommy last night and here was his response:
"I have spoken to Beangy (Graham Beange) about Doug Coull and will continue to do so. I have known Beangy for 20 years so we have been mates a long time and he has been really helpful. He knows that if there are any local lads leaving the club Lossie United will always be the first to know and likewise if we were loaning anyone out it will be to them so it is important to build up a good relationship between the clubs."
In other transfer news young Cove midfielder Chris Steel has joined Stonehaven and after completing the formalities to finalise the switch this morning he is set to go straight into the Hive squad ahead of their match against Culter this weekend.
Despite his playing time being limited over the first half of the season Steel netted three league goals in his 467 minutes of playing time for the Toonsers.
